Prostate cancer support groups provide a vital space for patients and loved ones to connect, reduce emotional distress, and share clinical insights. Whether you are seeking peer mentorship or expert-led discussions, these communities offer the resources needed to navigate diagnosis and survivorship.

Mentorship can be a meaningful way to gain perspective, reduce isolation, and gain insight from others who have faced similar challenges related to diagnosis, treatment, side effects, and survivorship.

A prostate cancer diagnosis can bring unexpected financial stress in addition to medical and emotional challenges. The Arizona Prostate Cancer Coalition (AZPCC) is committed to helping reduce financial barriers that may impact access to care and quality of life.
Support Groups
Prostate cancer support groups offer a supportive space to connect with others who understand the experience of diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship. Evidence shows that participation in cancer support groups can reduce emotional distress, improve coping, increase knowledge, and enhance overall quality of life through shared experiences and peer support.
In these groups, you may meet others with experiences similar to yours. Participants can listen, ask questions, share their story if they choose, and learn from others. Some groups also invite medical professionals to speak about prostate cancer treatments and emerging advances.

Caregivers, spouses, and significant others are often welcome to attend, as they are also navigating this journey and may have their own concerns and questions.
The largest prostate cancer support organization is ZERO Prostate Cancer (formerly Us TOO International). A list of Arizona-based ZERO Prostate Cancer and other prostate cancer support groups is provided below. Patients are encouraged to reach out directly to the group leader for the most up-to-date information about meeting schedules or availability.

Mentorship Program
Not sure where to turn? Newly diagnosed? Has your physician recommended a treatment and you still have questions?
The Arizona prostate cancer community includes patients and survivors—often called warriors—who have already navigated many of the experiences you may be facing. Our Mentorship Program connects individuals seeking support with trained volunteer mentors for a peer-to-peer, patient-to-patient exchange. Mentors are not medical professionals and do not provide medical advice; instead, they share personal experiences, practical insights, and compassionate support based on their own journeys. Participants are encouraged to consult their healthcare team when making medical decisions.
