AZPCC Essay Contest Rules
Format:
An essay of 1000 words or less telling your story of how a prostate cancer diagnosis has had a positive impact on your life. If possible, we request that entries be written in English.
Contest Prizes:
Five $100.00 honorariums will be awarded in each of the two categories. Winners will receive a check from AZPCC by mail within two weeks of winner notification.
Contest Period &
Deadline:
Deadline for contest entries has been extended to Tuesday, November 1, 2022. Entries will be judged on or about November 7, 2022. Winners will be announced on or about November 9, 2022.
Eligibility:
Category #1 (Personal Journey) - Open to full- or part-time Arizona residents who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Category #2 (Caregiver Journey) - Open to spouses/partners or caregivers (18 years or older) of full- or part-time Arizona residents who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Only one submission in each category per household
Members of the AZPCC board of directors and their immediate families are ineligible to submit entries.
Judging Criteria:
How has a prostate cancer diagnosis impacted your life in positive and unexpected ways?
It’s more important that the essay be heartfelt, rather than perfectly written.
Judging Panel:
Essays will be judged by members of the Arizona Prostate Cancer Coalition Board of Directors.

Entrant may be asked to sign a media release form.
Entrant agrees to have essay published on AZPCC website with use of first name and last initial and city of residence only.
